it's like bringing darkness, and darkness has already fell.

dear january,

i hate this month so far. i hate the boringness that j-term impedes upon my life. normally i am begging for down time for lack of any in my life. but with this being forced upon me, i find myself wanting anything but down time. and thanks to that great lady, mother nature, i have been forced to hibernate within my apartment, only venturing out for class and for other essential reasons. with a blizzard swooping in unexpectedly bringing with it many inches of snow, i have had even less choice on that matter. my dear frankie (my car, to those who are not in the know) cannot handle driving in the snow as well as i would like for him to. the only thing that has made my forced hibernation bearable has been the complete series of "northern exposure" which i have been diligently cracking away at. (if anyone wants to come join me in watching, there is an open invitation)

i have also been thoroughly enjoying some chill winter records, hot beverages and warm blankets. the only thing that would make this experience better is a fireplace. and not being in school. maybe being holed up in a cabin in the woods somewhere.

despite my annoyances with you, january, there are a few enjoyable aspects that only cold snowy winter days and nights can bring. being serenaded by the smooth solitary voice of justin vernon and his perfect winter melodies almost makes the winter worth it.

however, i will continue to be annoyed with you until the roads are completely cleared. so if you want to rectify our relationship, tell the grant county plow dudes to get on that. thank you.

love,
brittany
